Öykü Altuntaş Istanbul, Dec 29 (DHA) – Actress Isla Fisher and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, a renowned Hollywood couple, said they were to donate around 1 million dollars to help Syrian refugees.
While the couple will give half of the money to Save the Children in a bid to support funding of `measles vaccinations for children in northern Syria`, the other half will be donated to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to help `particularly women and children, with health care, shelter and sanitation` according to the Guardian`s report.
Millions from Syria have fled their home country while others have been forced to leave their homes, marking on the worst tragedies of çağıl history.
The money would `save many thousands of lives and protect some of the most vulnerable children`, confirmed Justin Forsyth,chief executive of Save the Children, adding the `generous donation` would help to `highlight the tragedy of the issue today`
IRC, on the other hand, called the donation of Fisher and Cohen a `great expression of humanity`.
